  1. Who would have thought that in the twenty-first century warfare you would be digging WW1 type trenches? I would find a friendly farmer and trade my modern military entrenching three fold shovel for his old fashion full length wooden handle shovel and pick-ax to dig the trench; he could give the modern tiny three fold shovel to his wife for the garden.
