  1. In the Battle of Agincourt in October 1415, the English longbow men defeated a numerically superior French force of knights on horses with long lances. The battle field was narrow and muddy from the October rains. The French were chasing the English force consisting of mainly English longbow men and few English knights. After firing all their arrows against the knights, the longbow men fought the French knights using their short daggers. With the French heavy armor and the added mud, they couldn’t swing their heavy long swords. Having no armor the longbow men could move quicker in the muddy field. The French knights were stabbed in between the armor straps and killed. One of the oldest lessons learn; know the advantages of your weapon and the enemy’s weapon and chose the ground you fight on.
