  1. The purpose of a self-propelled howitzer is to “Shoot and Scoot”, fire off some rounds and leave to avoid enemy counter battery return fire. Someone must not have told the Russian crew that when you “Scoot” it means getting outside of the enemy artillery range and not just hide under some trees nearby within enemy counter battery artillery range. Or maybe they didn’t have enough petrol to constantly go back and forth in a “Shoot and Scoot” scenario.
