Informative but the differences are still a bit confusing and I wouldn't be surprised if what was discussed here isn't all of it.
Anyway, I think it's very disappointing that these extremist groups feel the need to cause so much suffering, conflict, chaos, etc all due to differences in how they're interpreting a religion, differences in philosophies, etc. It's fine to believe & practice whatever you want, but I think it's ridiculous to think that whatever your belief is 'the right one' and to think that others that don't believe in said religion are 'wrong' and somehow that gives them the okay to cause suffering, fear, pain, etc ... Very disappointing.
Also, it's fine to want to keep up with traditions, but no one should take it so far as to think that modern society is 'wrong' and (again) that shouldn't give anyone the right to do these things.
Honestly, these extremist groups should just stop what they're doing. They've been using the excuse of religion for way too long, and they're giving their own religion a very bad reputation. People (to this day) still fear or feel suspicious around those that practice Islam. From the Muslims that I've talked with, they've all been very friendly & open minded. I'm sure they feel a certain way about how society portrays them from these extremist groups.
It's ridiculous too that the US military was actively involved in Afghanistan for 20 years only for things to pretty much go right back to how it was (maybe worse) as soon as US military started to leave.
