I think it's understandable that people might associate this with prostitution, but considering that any physical contact and especially sexual activity is against their rules, it's more for lonely or uncertain people who need companionship and or a guide in a country they're not too familiar with. In that regard, it's kind of sad if you think about this being a service offered to those who are lonely. But from a marketing/business/tourist perspective, it's a really great service. I suppose one way you could look at it is like a one-on-one tourist service.
