@Asian Boss These 'standards' seem like more going toward being emaciated. It's not healthy at all. These 'idol' girls are actually not really a healthy life style in terms of weight. Being health is about being satisfied and comfortable with the way your body looks to you. Honestly, it's better to lose fat and gain muscle, but it seems like these K-Pop stars glamorize just lose fat but not gain muscle. They need to emphasize that the weight number cannot and should not be for everyone. Everyone has a different body type, height, genetics, etc.

@로빈 Fair points, Robin. 👍 But my point isn’t about that. It’s the problem is normal everyday people thinking these individuals’ impossible and unhealthy standards are a norm and what people should strive for, and thinking anything else is unhealthy and or fat.

@Andrew Lee I still say that a BMI of 18 ~ 19 is dangerously low. You also make a good point about how the BMI is generally targeted for Caucasians which is a problem in itself as the scale itself is not designed for the intended audience. Also I've read that the BMI isn't really a good indicator in general for overall health. I totally agree that a lot of Western foods is quite low quality, and even the things served in expensive restaurants tend to be very high in things like sodium, carbohydrates, and very high in calories. So I totally agree with the 1 meal pretty much making up an entire day's worth of calories most people would need. It's no wonder that in many Western countries, we have issues with severe obesity, diabetes, cancer, etc. The problem stems from the government and the FDA not really caring about the well being of people and instead caring more about profits and being able to get away with using chemicals that they know is carcinogenic or very harmful yet apparently not illegal to use. If the FDA and the government can even change the ingredients used in snacks, I think that in itself can drastically improve people's health. But of course they won't since they need to keep people sick so they can sell pharmaceuticals.
