  1. China is notorious for manufacturing and selling fake products of authentic, well established brands. Personally I'd save up and buy authentic products only. You don't know what kinds of toxic and potentially carcinogenic chemicals might be on these fake products. For skin care products you definitely should buy and use only authentic product for things like clothing, bags, etc you should still buy authentic products, but it's not as risky as using products you apply or eat. But there's still that risk. The same applies to bootleg plastic toys. You don't know what kind of plastics they use and where they source it from. Honestly, I think China should focus on establishing their own brands and using high quality products and high quality manufacturing processes. The country has the means and logistics to design and manufacture things. So why bother essentially wasting raw materials on low quality products that are potentially harmful to one's health and or doesn't last a long time? If China stops making and the Chinese consumer stops buying these bootleg products and instead focuses on creating new products that are high quality, safe, etc. maybe Western countries would buy those and sell those things at major retail stores in the US, Europe, etc.
