  1. The West is caught in a production lag. Last year, HIMARS was a forgotten minor system. Now the plant in the US cannot make them fast enough. Same for artillery shells. Plants are running at capacity, with new ones on the way. Air defense is a priority. IRIS-T works, so it is going to Ukraine along with Patriot, NASAMS, etc. To maintain a domestic capability, Arrow-3 will work well. All this stuff requires time to obtain, train crews, and deploy the batteries, but it is a good system that can do the job while the longer ranged stuff goes to the active combat zone in Ukraine.
