The BRITISH did NOT "impose THEIR partition proposal", unless you are talking about the 1921 Partition of the 77% of Israeli land known as Transjordan, that had been LEGALLY "MANDATED " at San Remo for return to the "Israelis" ? Indeed, the British had NO legal right to make that decision unilaterally, but was RATIFIED by Council Of The League Of Nations in 1922 to be handed over to the Hashemites as the FIRST attempt at "A Two State Solution". IF you are talking about the SECOND attempt in 1947 to carve up the remaining 23%, THAT was "imposed" by the UN and NOT "The British"
