It's something that happens in campaigns including an upper level operative in the Clinton campaign who wasn't fired. This was being brought forward privately to the politician most inclined to address the issue in an active way and was not intended to be made public.

They would love that because he would become irrelevant in politics. Unless a major party collapses a third party is only useful in moving a major party in a better direction. He might be able to run as an Indy if he doesn't get the nomination, but that would probably only make Trump a two term president.

I won't vote for a corporate candidate. Perez is trying to blur the line so check records carefully.

CAP and Third Way plan to fight Bernie harder than they will fight Trump. Both are funded by GOP donors and are right wing Democrat think tanks. All this tells me is that the elite understand that Bernie is the biggest threat to the corporate power players who run our government to their own advantage.

Jermaine Burgess I also am a woman and I understand the context of the letter. This has been a long standing problem in DC culture and usually there are instances of harrassment on campaigns. A high ranking member of the Clinton campaign harassed quite a few women. When Hillary was made aware of it she insisted he get counseling but kept him on the campaign. That's not to down Hillary, but to point out just how common it is. It speaks well of Sanders that his team, both men and women, decided to address the issue directly with him as well as senior staff members in advance of the next election in order that a plan will be in place to address these instances if or when they happen. I read the actual letter which was not intended to be made public so I know what was really said instead of the public smear campaign associated with it. There will be a meeting with those who hope to join the campaign in case he does run which will have an online Link up to join in the discussion for any unable to attend in person. A plan for dealing with and preventing harassment will then be in place in order to keep everyone safe. This letter wasn't directed at this particular campaign, but at the campaign culture in general and that was made abundantly clear in the letter.

@willem1703 At last! Someone else who understands this. Also, well said.

Many of the boomer generation, I am ashamed to say, have no opinions of their own and form their opinions based on mainstream media. This are their target demographic.

@ecsancho They will just start using that word too. Liberal used to mean something but now it doesn't because they took it as their own the same as they have progressive. What's really different is the ideology and the policy positions, not the word which is only a convenient shorthand anyway. I get tired of racing ahead to find a new name when they will only co-opt it once it comes into use to signify the most popular ifeas. It's frustrating at best.

If the think tanks who are funded by hedgefund managers and the Koch brothers and their cronies are attacking this early they obviously understand their agenda is threatened.

He is probably the worst of a bad lot.

@Oppeldeldoc1 He doesn't. We do. We need relevant politicians to remain relevant. There are too few of them.
