UBI has some decent models but Yang's is regressive. The only models I find at all acceptable are those that address the wealth gap and cost anchors.

Yang admits the regressive nature of his plan in an interview he did with Dave Rubin. It might open the eyes of the Yang Gang and maybe this would help too.

@dorothypage77 Which reminds me, Yang said he wouldn't address climate change during the second debate. That should have ended his candidacy on the spot just as Biden's "middle ground approach", which also means do nothing much, should have ended his campaign. The time for urgent action should have been decades ago but unless we act now nothing else matters. We're done.

John Holmes Don't you think we're aware of that? What do you think we're trying to change?

@almostskater3210 US citizens have a less than 1% chance of getting our preferences into policy. Do you think we're totally dense? That doesn't mean we shouldn't try to change that.

@joananthony6323 An entirely different version has been proven to work in parts of several countries including the US but I think it needs further study before we might actually need to implement on a broader scale - or not. It's a tool I don't think we are not ready to remove from the toolbox yet when we have tools available that have been proven over a longer period and have already been shown to work on a national scale.

There's also the fact that those who think they have something to gain, those barely making it or middle class wanting an increase in spending money, end up paying for it in taxes because the wealthy and corporations don't pay taxes. Look it up.

@noxid86 If I remember correctly, the 1950s.

@williamdavis3136 It's obviously not.

JohnnyGotHisGun I've never met one so thanks for filling me in.

@FJRamosArt That could be true. I've never met one so I really wouldn't know.

@JM-gv1zk They've applied to every presidential race for decades. I wish I could remember how many but sorry, I don't. Your search engine could easily tell you unless you prefer to ask Alexa.

@JM-gv1zk This is the country, not just one political party. Bernie endorsed and campaigned his heart out for a candidate he strongly disagreed with because of the way Trumpism played into his family history. "Trump is the most dangerous president in our history" is something he means, not just campaign rhetoric. Although his father escaped the Nazi occupation of Poland the rest of his family died in the holocaust. It made him physically sick to campaign for Hillary but because of that he did it anyway.

@almostskater3210 Unless he meant the primaries are weighted against progressives and sometimes toward a specific candidate by party insiders they're probably not. Unless one or another swing state cheats, which BTW has been known to happen, the general elections are on the up and up.
