  1. I started keeping an eye on what was going on from the first time I heard about the outbreak in China although few other Americans seemed to be paying much attention even after it hit Italy. Everyone around me except my son were shrugging it off because it was "over there". The world is a small place. Something you will realize if you've ever traveled. Because so many travel things can spread around the planet rapidly it's not like it was back when it took a long dangerous trip by ship a hundred years ago.

  6. Mary's family sounds as messed up as mine but from all accounts I've heard her father was a very nice man and well liked by pretty much everyone. His father's rejection had to have been painful. Too bad he didn't have the kind of family he deserved. It sounds like Mary's grandfather destroyed the entire family. As someone with a very bizarre family I understand how damaging that can be. Some of what went on was too strange to put online and the rest is far too personal. It's amazing how much damage a disfunctionel family can do.

  9. Obama had a hell of a speech writer and delivered those speeches well. He was also a charming and knowledgeable conversationalist. I enjoyed the one opportunity I had to talk with him quite a lot. I regret that Michelle wasn't with him and that I never had a chance to meet her because they ended up in the Whitehouse and had better things to do. I made dinner for Obama and a few friends which turned out very well. I'm glad it did because he was as big a foodie as I was.

  11. While I disagree with Mooch politically and in a number of other ways I like the guy. He's someone I could agree to disagree with on a number of subjects and keep it totally civil and even friendly.

  15. One of the biggest difference between Bernie or Trump is that Bernie said kick upward while Trump encouraged people to kick down at those with the least power. It's ridiculous to believe that people who are at the very bottom are creating the problem when they have absolutely no power. There is no point in kicking the most vulnerable people in our society. However you will never be permitted to be the nominee if you admit that legalized political corruption and bribery are creating the problem.

  16. I never really understood why Charles Manson spent his life in prison while those who committed the murders eventually got off until I watched Trump incite violence from the Whitehouse. His cult were listening and acted on what he said much like what was said of Manson although he only had a cult but didn't have the Presidency.

  22. I have a strange family dynamic The women are the ones who were misogynist. They also didn't allow for any form of what they considered weakness on the part of the men while the men believed in equality between the sexes.. I grew up rather confused about gender roles. From the men I learned that we are equals while from the women I learned that I didn't dare to show weakness. Like Mary's grandmother I have severe osteoporosis and frequently have broken bones, especially in my spine, but I have to pretend it's business as usual no matter how bad I hurt. I didn't realize I also needed a penis in order to get any respect.

  23. Because I'm in contact with people from all over the country I was screaming warnings to be RNC, the DNC and everyone else with the power to do something about it but no one took me seriously. That was in the 2016 election but I couldn't get anyone to listen to me when I told them he was going to win and how they could stop him before it was too late.

  24. Biden wouldn't have been a good President in his younger years but he's a very good President now. I'm glad he's our President because the President has far more power internally rather than domesticly. I wanted Bernie Sanders but I'm very happy to have him as the chairman of the HELP committee where he has a lot of domestic power in the areas that are most important to the American people.
