I just love this man. If the rest of the people in Congress were like him this would be a great place to live.

I would far rather watch our Congressional committees go about the business of governing online or on C-SPAN than the palace gossip on the TV news networks. This is much more interesting because it's what really matters.

I fully agree. I feel ashamed of being an American when we involve ourselves in a genocide because Saudi Arabia wants our weapons and assistance. It makes it difficult to sleep at night. Those precious children are suffering terribly along with the adults. If we withdrew it would probably soon end that terrible humanitarian crisis.

We love you Bernie, Jane and family. Happy New Year and congratulations on your new committee leadership position.

joesaiditstrue No one ever questions how we will pay for bombs, do they?
31
Forgot increasing their taxes and close the loopholes. You'll collect more revenue that way.
24
You cannot have a democracy without a well educated population. We need to do something about the cost of college. At least my sons have no student debt
22
It's scary but I have to believe we will get through this because despair is not an option.
21
Especially not the Supreme Court Justice you're voting on. I dislike having a member of a religious cult in the Supreme Court. Not only that, but she's very partisan.
21
Vicki Bee It's not the only time they committed crimes against the environment, and by extension, every living creature depending on that environment.
20
Bernie you said it. This is bad. Especially with the price of food going up.
15
Thank you Bernie. For working so hard for us.
14
Don't expect those corporations to keep their businesses in the United States where they have to actually pay the workers although they don't pay their workers enough to pay for housing and feed their families.
13
Allan Sh I agree. He should use fine pastries instead. Infinitely more appetizing.
13
Cipriana Garcia I have a problem with apps grabbing information outside what you put forward on that specific app. I can look at a product on E-bay and it will suddenly start popping up every time I log onto YouTube, as an example. I don't mind the targeted advertising but I do mind the private and personal information they collect.
11
Our corporations import educated employees, especially in the tech industry, not because they are less expensive but because our own children are not well enough educated. My sons rarely work with other Americans. Why?
11
I know the cost very well. I retired disabled in poverty but my children are not burdened with student debt.
11
Liberal Larry Only millions? Might want to set your number a lot higher.
10
Absolutely right Bernie. People are unable to feed their families and there are lines at the food banks miles long. Millions wonder if they will soon be homeless. The Senate should be doing something about that rather than voting in a Supreme Court Justice.
10
Medicare with prescription insurance on the side makes the best healthcare I've had in my life although I wish I could get hearing aids. I will try some over the counter ones soon.
10
I have a bad feeling I'm going to be really annoyed with Manchin, Sinema and probably a few others before we get anything passed.
10
We already have over a half a million people living on the streets. We have to somehow get these people as well as any who lose their homes due to the pandemic into housing and off the streets. Having the police chase them from one place to another only makes their lives worse without solving the problem.
10
We had another polar vortex last winter. When I fed horses at 8:00AM it was 31 below. The weather was absolutely deadly and I wondered how the homeless were coping.
10
I remember when business considered affect on community because they were part of that community
9
Sharing information for targeted advertising of products is fine with me since it offers products I want or need instead of those I don't. Personal information is another matter altogether.
9
Jerry Paul Those of us who are getting old want it for our children and grandchildren. Many of us know the cost, and I don't just mean monetarily, of not having a national healthcare system.
8
Every doctor in my rather large medical team are wishing we had M4A. They have to watch patients die over and over even before the pandemic and worse since it started due to for profit healthcare unlike Medicare. I lost my daughter to cancer because her for profit healthcare wouldn't pay. The same happened to me a few years earlier but so far I've survived. My hardware used to put me back together during surgery for bone cancer has come apart. Especially the part in my lower jaw causing a massive infection in the bone behind my ear causing repeated severe ear infections as well. Now I have to get rid of the infection and get my hardware removed so I'm on two strong antibiotics for the next month and a half.
8
Bernie being right as usual.
8
I love the Medicare for all plan but am not exactly enamored of donuts. Could we maybe count fine pastries instead? (Although I might then eat all of them myself😉)..
8
Damn right, Bernie.
8
Cable media also needed not to give one candidate billions in free airtime while ignoring others. However, invasion of privacy is inexcusable. The NSA needs to be called out for that to an even greater degree than tech companies. In keeping with our constitution we need some regulations to ensure some degree of privacy.
7
Not to mention we need this kind of leadership combined with diplomacy in order to mitigate climate change.
7
Perfect way to call out the deficit hawks. Good going Bernie.
7
Inflation is being used as an excuse for price gouging.
6
I really wish Bernie and people like him were completely in charge of running our government. Our lives as retirees and working people would be so much better. Unfortunately people like that are extremely rare and we have to treasure the few we have in this world.
6
In my parent's WW2 generation it was about racism while now it's about greed.
6
This is also a men's issue if they plan to get laid any time in the near future whether or not they are married. They will get laid only when the woman is willing to become pregnant.
5
Absolutely Bernie. It's way past time this happened.
5
Tell the bail bondsmen to go get jobs like everyone else. It's another industry like health insurance that shouldn't even exist. There shouldn't be a need for them if we did things right in this country.
5
There is little or nothing more pathetic than bullying children but that's what the party of Trump does, go after the most vulnerable. That's a show of incredible weakness, not of strength. A strong person might punch upward but will never punch down. Furthermore, Trump is without a doubt, the most needy human being I've ever seen.
4
The bread lines (food banks) have lines miles long. People are sitting all day in hopes of feeding their families.
4
Consider it an investment in our future as a country. Education is one of the most important areas in which we are far behind the rest of the developed nations. Even developing nations like India place more importance on education than many Americans who then wonder why corporations have to import their workers and fail to understand why they are falling behind previous generations. High school is no longer enough unless you want to spend your life in the fast food industry or washing dishes.
4
altpath Because that debt affects your ability to pay your other debts leading to bankruptcy which will affect your credit anyway. We need to do away with the student debt crisis entirely.
4
Jerry Paul I hope they didn't feed you canned vegetables like they do in the U.S..
4
G Worm You are mistaken. I'm not angry with bail bondsmen. I see the need for them under our current system. They perform a service that shouldn't be needed. Improve our system and the industry won't exist so they will either need jobs or to find something that is needed and those who are creative will be able to do that.
4
Reyna Encantadora You don't have to commit a crime or even be convicted of one to be held for long periods of time. Only suspected. The courts are very backed up, especially in areas with high population.
4
Kyle Ruth Its not only insurance companies that add to the cost of medical care. Most hospitals require an entire floor filled with workers to deal with all the different insurance companies. One small office and a few workers would be required to bill a single insurance like Medicare which would cut cost in a very big way.
3
I find that we almost all have the same economic asks no matter where we are on the political spectrum. And we don't want Social Security cut. We want it expanded. We want M4A. We want and need climate action NOW. We want the minimum wage raised to a living wage. Most of us want Roe back. We want the Supreme Court to stop taking away our rights. Many of us want worker co-ops. The list goes on and on and includes FDRs bill of economic rights.
3
If we had M4A my daughter who was beautiful both inside and out would still be alive today. She died of cancer leaving four. children and a loving husband behind because our privatized health insurance makes their money denying care. She died December 23, 2018; before she got out of her 40s. She had just dond her Christmas gifts and gotten them wrapped so that no matter how bad she felt her family would have gifts to open. That's the kind of loving thoughtful person she was. She even managed to buy gifts for her many friends. Obviously I'll never get over her loss. Neither will her children, her husband of her friends along with her two younger brothers. My children 2 we e very close.
3
Jerry Paul Probably Swedish meatballs.
