  1. I think the 70% we had under President Kennedy would be enough but first we have to close the loopholes. We would collect more tax revenue than if we had a 90% top marginal rate with the loopholes wide open. My son pays a higher tax rate than Warren Buffet who lives near him. It wouldn't matter nearly as much if it weren't for the high degree of income and wealth inequality. Bernie Sanders came up with a great idea for preventing off shoring money.

  2. While federal taxes don't actually pay for anything they serve two purposes. They help control inflation and extreme income and wealth inequality. Our tax money is destroyed and new money brought into existence by the fed when Congress creates a budget.
