If we had a president who occasionally tweeted a communication showing kindness, wisdom and leadership I'd be fine with that. Tweeting hatred and victimhood as he does is nothing I can respect or accept in any member of government, much less a president.

Trump likes economic collapse because he is able to pick up great properties at a low price when the economy goes down. He said it himself when warned he would bring down the economy. His only concern is that he is already out of office when it happens which he assumes he will be. I hope it happens on his watch instead of happening to the next president although our next president will be the one who has to deal with it. That's why it has to be Bernie Sanders. He will look out for the well being of the poor and working class rather than the plutocrats. That's what FDR did during the great depression. He hit the reset button with a great deal of pressure from unions and the Socialist party which was still a force to be reckoned with at the time. Yes, we once had a Socialist party as well as a Communist party in the US before and well into the cold war era. The labor unions weren't perfect but there were enough of them to be a strong Political force for the working class.

Interesting. I've never viewed a president as a father figure but can't help noticing that young people do often view one or another politician as a father figure. Being as old or older than every president in my adult life may be part of it but I had a father as well as a couple grandfathers and I was close to all of them.
