@HighlandGer I'm afraid you missed the latest one, it's more subtle inversion, it was to refer to them as 'Britons', as if existing on British soil magically transforms you into a person with a heritage and lineage rooted her going back thousands of years, rather than merely handful of weeks or months, and therefore entitled to all that actual Britons have built and saved up.

@turquoiseowl Got aid. Hmm most of that was lend lease and loans and both ventures were elite follies that ruined this country and did little good overall. Had both conflicts been kept out of, the vast numbers of lives and sums wasted would have been saved, independence maintained and yes even better aid given and outcomes for those persecuted on the continent. Some involvement in terms of remote technology development, radar, decryption etc could have been maintained to have a more humanitarian thumb on the scale. The ever possible threat of Anglo American entering the war rather than actually doing so would have been much more effective in policing all sides of the European theatre. The end of WWI could have been more sensibly negotiated and in WWII those fleeing either side could have been more easily aided & rescued and the end of the conflict would have seen both sides exhausted and sooner and a better post war geopolitical situation constructed. The Shoah, whilst still occurring as a genocide of European Jewry, would have been due more to expulsion than extermination. The revanchist genocide of the German European diaspora that was done after the war mostly by expulsion would not have needed been wrought either and we perhaps could have seen a more Swiss style confederated union of European states where the Nation State of Germany could have been undone not through an imposed partition but an empowering of the local states within a larger extra national structure more in keeping with their history in the Holy Roman Empire but in a modern less denominationally partisan form. The suicidal turn of European civilisation could have in my estimation been avoided and the conclusion of the idealogical conflicts and the lessons learned come sooner -without either the death or the growth of modern China or the Israel/Palestine conflict -for which a fairer more rstional settlement could have been reached in a less charged situation.

@anthonyrybicki1000 What racism would that be? You claim your experience is authoritative over 'most working class northerners' and then deride them from a self righteous high horse position. You appear to have an outsider's disdain for the working class people of the North of England as well as an inflated sense of your ability to appraise and pass judgement on others. It is clearly humanly impossible for you to have lived experience of enough working class Northerners for your claims to be anything but overreaching -which is what I've pointed out. You may be correct but site some data then.

@turquoiseowl Without parallel? I'd love to see what the UK could do if the billions sent by the US to Israel in 'aid' was instead redirected to us. I'd also be curious to see what impact it would have on Israel's 'unparalleled' ability to stand and fight.

@jamessmith1652 Yes, perhaps so, however they are small dissenting echo chambers to the larger one. I do wish we'd work back to a proper broad discourse where all sides are aired and challenged, even ones on the fringes, it seems to be just different strength flavours of echo chambers otherwise.
