  1. I don't think the surveillance can be put back in the bottle; from where we are I think transparency is the aspect to be fought for first. If all CCTV surveilling public spaces and government buildings, (with National, not local, Security exemptions), were open source and records accessible to the public then they would be less oppressive and have incentives against further perpetuation and perhaps rollback when powerful people are also affected more.
