Hope Ukraine can pull this off but I'm not sure - fighting a defensive battle is easier than fighting offensively. Both sides have been heavily bloodied over the last year, remember a year ago nobody expected Ukraine to even be able to survive, they've done amazingly well so far, but it will be really impressive if they can get all the new recruits to work as a combined arms army. Plus the Rusisians know they have to keep the land bridge to crimea to save it all, that said it's possible the Russians could even be worse than the Ukranians - if the Russian units fall apart there could be a walkover - but the Russians have failled to do that so far. There are probably lessons for the west hear too - in wartime it's highly likely the western democracies would have to conscript people - you can expect the quality of troops to drop and training to be shortened in a similar manner - planning and tactics should probably consider that. My main worry for the Ukranians is lack of ammuntion and ground air defences not being enough to keep the Russian airforce out.
