I think both Savarkar and Jinnah were better minds, better intellectual/scholars than Gandhi. But a great leader should not be measured by his/her intellectual prowess bcz this cannot be the criteria for a leadership. Leaders should understand, foresee the future and are able to lead der people from the existing/current mess. Gandhi was able to do that. We can see the Jinnah failed measurably. Savarkar failed during freedom struggle too. But he would have failed even if he would have got his ways during 1947.

Arrey yaar, You put the most provocative thing as headlines to attract people. This is the purpose of headlines. If Vikram Sampat has told clearly that "Savarkar was greater than Gandhi" or "Impact of Savarkar was more than Gandhi" then it would have been the headline. Except the muslim hatred part, Gandhi is ideologically more suitable for BJP and RSS than Savarkar. If RSS and BJP leave that part, you will find out Gandhi is 99.99% saying the same things which BJP/RSS says. Gandhi believed in cow protection, vegitarian diet, religious, Ram ji, Indian past glories, Caste system, Pooja, Mantras, Indian philosophical supremacy, etc. Savarkar was more of modern scientific and logical person. He didn't believe in this nonsense of traditional values and caste system. He even made fun of those who said Cow is mother. He simply said how can an animal be your mother? I would have supported Savarkar if he didn't have hatred for one community. Not bcz I love that community or they are some great people, but bcz you cannot survive by hating someone. You cannot remain sane if you are a "hat_eful big_ot". And obviously, I don't consider "Cow as mother" but I cannot support eating beef. Even if you don't like caste system, if you are born in ine caste you get few things since your childhood. Me feeding cows and giving first Roti to them my entire childhood, cannot accept the idea of eating beef or even seeing someone doing that.

Arrey yaar. They said RSS does that in der Shakha. But u see whenever der is any discussion, any mention by anyone in open discussion, even BJP and RSS people mention Guru Golvalkar (Guruji). Just check any debate in the media and you will almost never hear Dr Hedgewar's name.

I don't judge Savarkar for his letters. But the problem is, after getting out of jail, he followed all the conditions imposed on him. Even after 1937, he didn't get directly involved in the freedom struggle. Also, whatever Vikram Sampat can say, but Savarkar was not starving for 60 rs British pension but he still accepted that. He actually demanded that. That puts a lot of questions on him. Also, if we see, Savarkar weight was increased in Kala Pani. He was tortured for the 1st 1-2 years but after that he has his way. He never participated in any protest in Andaman and this can be found out from his own writings. So he was a great scholar, freedom fighter till he was arrested but after that he was just thinking about getting out of jail and then after coming out of jail, he didn't find relevance in Indian society. He seemed like a frustrated guy who thinks (and rightly so) that he was more talented than Gandhi and still cannot win against him. That frustration is the whole legacy of Savarkar, obviously after his revolutionary work till he got arrested.

@suryaprakash72771 I don't think Savarkar has done anything for the freedom movement after he went to jail. He was non participant in India freedom struggle after that. But he has worked against caste. Yes, Ambedkar ji has some disagreement with his ways of creating separate temples for everyone but Savarkar has worked against the caste system. Obviously, noone can be compared with Baba Saheb.

@Ravi-g8w5s As per ur logic, Savarkar got jail in Kalapani. But did he complete his entire punishment? Did he get the "de_ath" penalty like others? So he was not a Krantikari or his contributions were less than Khudi Ram Bose? Matlab kuchh v bakana is not logic babua.

@Ravi-g8w5s So you are saying that British should have felicitated him to organize protest or participate in freedom movement? Matlab kuchh v. He could have done this and could have gone back to jail. Also after 1937, he was free to go anywhere. So what did he do for the freedom movement then?

@Ravi-g8w5s When you don't understand history then don't comment. Nehru was in jail for more than 10 years. Tilak was the leader of the same congress which was established by AO Hume. Congress was changed after 1905. So don't show ur knowledge level here by commenting rub_bish. Khilafat - So against Muslim communal forces, Savarkar advocates Hindu Communalism. What a great strategy. That hat_eful Khilafat politics went to Pakistan and destroyed it. Read why Gandhi supported Khilafat. U guys are trying to follow Jinnah.

@Ravi-g8w5s Savarkar participated in government with Muslim League and Jinnah. So don't talk about he giving warnings to Hindus about ML. He was in government with ML when Sindh passed the resolution for Pakistan. Read

@Ravi-g8w5s Arrey Champak, do you know FAANSI? So did Savarkar get it? Did he even complete his full Punishment? Do u know how many died in Kala Pani? Savarkar was so much tortured in Kala pani that his weight increased in Kaala Pani.😂 Many died der, many never came back from der. And when u compare about Nehru and Savarkar jail, so it cannot be compared. Savarkar choose one way, knowing what could happen and when it happened he backed away. Nehru chose another way, he knew what could happen and he never backed away from it. So compare Savarkar with those who selected that way and who never backed away.

During the VP Singh era, BJP and CPM supported the government from outside. So they were more like an outside partners However, Hindu Mahasabha joined the government with Muslim League. They were minister in the government. They were partners, mia-bibi. Read u ****. @Ravi-g8w5s yes, Savarkar opposed Pakistan creation in his speeches and still participated with them in forming government with Muslim League. Also, his ministers didn't resign after ML passed the demand of Pakistan resolution in Sindh. So as per ur own admission, "Savarkar was a hypo_crite then". It was like,Muh me ram bagal me Muslim League. You judge a person on what he has done and not on what he said. I hope now you will read first and comment later. And at least don't give these full tosses.😉

@Ravi-g8w5s About congress accepting seperate electorate for Muslims. Check who was the leader of Congress then. Gandhi Nehru was not yet der. By the way, just check the role of Tilak and others. And I believe that they have done this to make India better and improve unity. But obviously, those who didn't take part in freedom struggle after 1925, those whose supporters are in power now, will question everyone but not der own. 😂

A separate electorate was demanded by Ambedkar ji too. Der was reason behind it and that is one of the reason behind Gandhi supporting Khilafat. But obviously, those who have never participated in the freedom struggle, can't understand simple things. Read, understand, have a coherent view with logic and then comment. Don't say/mean things like all the ML leaders were from Congress and bcz they demanded a separate electorate in future, congress was to do something with it. India, Union of states - First line of constitution is that Mr Geni_us. India is a union of states. Read before commenting Cha_mpak. Atleast know this. Modi, "poor?" guy did for muslims -😂😂😂 So lets say u live in Telangana and Owaisi is CM(he should never become that but just assume). Now he will give you free house, free food, free electricity too. But when u will go outside, der will be a small danger of being "Lyn__ched" bcz if ur religion, ur home can be buldozed if u organise a protest against him or his government and u will be called some names all the time. I hope u will vote for Owaisi bcz he gave u a free home, food grains, etc. Only Nehru/Gandhi having reasons - No, everyone does everything for a reason. Only thing is which reason is valid/good and have potential to create a great nation and which one will do completely opposite thing. Like Jinnah and ML has the reason as well to create Pakistan.
