  1. Lex, Godel theorem objection to AI is not about a limit to computation or fallibility. Human understanding somehow exceeds the formal rules of computation. In fact, computers are infallible but they lack understanding as they just follow the rules, while humans are indeed fallible but capable of understanding. I’d humbly suggest listening to Roger Penrose lectures on consciousness. The point is very subtle and the term ‘understanding’ is vague. I agree that by engineering systems capable of complex human functions we may come to a better understanding of what intelligence and understanding mean, presumably because computation based systems will always lack true "intelligence" and "understanding".
