yeah, and our government previously encouraged farmers to greatly increase their livestock than what was previously held when the EU caps were dropped, leading to people taking on a lot of dept to expand in what they were assured was a continually sustainable business (which it wasn't). And the irish farming body continually covers for the wastewater run off issues that we're facing in the country, leading to borderline 3rd world water quality in many parts of the country and the extinction of a few freshwater river species.
