@poutine57 What I'm saying is that people shouldn't close their minds to possibilities. The universe and everything in it came into existence through some causal forces...were those forces designed by some intelligence? Some kind of intelligence that humans lack the capacity to comprehend? To me, to preclude the existence of something larger and more profound than what we can experience with our very limited senses is pretty depressing and nihilistic. I'm not speaking to any specific religion, only to the more general idea of a higher power. I would tend to agree with you that god (or some higher power) is likely not controlling our lives.

@poutine57 Your life experience neither proves nor disproves the existence of god. I don't know if there is a god, however, I would tend to think there is some intelligence behind the creation of the universe or universes. There is certainly more to reality than what we are able to perceive with our limited senses and tiny meat-based brains
