  14. It wasn't unlikely at all. Germany lost due to hubris and stupidity of Hitler, and the failure of his generals to take control from him. Germany could have easily prevailed, especially if Japan invaded from the east. But even without Japan they could have. Hitler cost them the war.

  19. What does it matter if you are killed as a POW or run over by a German tank? Dead is dead. 23-29 million dead. I think they fought hard for other reasons. A lot of times it was because their was a rifle at their back and if they didn't fight, their own officers would shoot them.

  20. A lot of that is wrong. White Russians did not get a lot of help from the west. The Soviets got massive help. It isn't the only reason for their victory, but the fact is without western help they couldn't have cranked out tanks and other weapons of war like they did. Massive scale production is one of the reasons the Soviets won. Another reason was stupid decisions by the Germans. I suspect your stupid boomer logic is at fault for your not understanding. The Chinese nationalists lost because Mao kept getting limitless funding and supplies from central bankers. They printed money like crazy to prop up all the communists.

  24. Nonsense. They absolutely could have won. They made poor decisions, Leningrad was one. Not going straight for Moscow was number two. They didn't use defensive entrenching and wait out the winter, they didn't learn from Napoleon's experiences fighting the Russians, which is crazy. When you have a kill ratio like the Germans did (2-3 million dead Germans for 23-29 million Soviets) They absolutely could have won. The Germans punched far above their weight. True they didn't have enough logistics by the end, but that is because they pissed away so much of what they had. The Germans also could learned from the Spanish units that fought with them, who had great success against the communists in Spain and absolutely wrecked the Soviets for only being about 6,000 men.

  27. What nonsense. Without US and western help, the Soviets would have totally collapsed. If the Japanese had invaded from the east the Soviets would have been toast. They barely won as it was with all the help the got and Japan abandoning its ally.
