@AmericanDuck the other thing about us old guys, who remember the cold war and served in the military through the last 35 years of conflict, is we can train others fast and efficiently. So take the few million of us who have been to the sandbox on multiple trips, and extrapolate us teaching 100 to 1000 people how to do damage and get away. That is where we old guys shine. I haven't been able to run since my 2004 deployment, but I can sure as hell teach people what to do and how to do it. One green beret can get thousands of people trained in weeks very easily. The thing they don't mention in the video, but OH talks about briefly, is we are too damn arrogant and confident to turn tail and run. We might advance to the rear, like Chosin, but its not like everyone is gonna drop their hole punch and hide. That is the main reason we are so effective, because we would rather give the other poor bastard the chance to expire for his country.

@gillo79 ya gotta be fair, yes vs Jarheads, hardly anyone is as good. Its what ya Jarheads do, everyone is a rifleman. Now compare other militaries from other countries to US civilians... They have hole punches and optics that were not built by the lowest bidder. I know the stuff I lost in that July 4th ice fishing fire two years ago was far better equipment than I carried in the military. I have never seen ice combust like that before, it was pandelerium.

@lynn4205 I have zero interest in going to California, been to WA and OR already. People out there are speshul. I get out of Michigan often, I am not originally from here, but the land is cheap... and I can be remote so as to avoid people. I put in my time driving around with the dolts and doofuses... its bad enough going to Nebraska or Texas pulling a single car trailer.

@jeremyhess7977 I had some 'interesting' training, I was USAF loading and unloading cargo planes. My units would send me to the things they thought were some form of punishment. I was over my max weight from the day I took the oath, then the first war made me bigger. So I was the one they picked to do the seemingly unappealing things. NBC defense, decon, ABGD (airbase ground defense.. read that as lots of ambushes and funneling them into areas), and some other really useful things because it was the late 80s and we had a problem with certain people. On top of that I grew up on a farm, learned how to build and consequently break things. Expert marksman every time except for when I got laser eye correction in 2003, so the 04 was only 'qualified.' Was seeing double in both eyes for a bit over a year. Take all of that experience and turn me loose with a couple hundred people wanting to do damage... it will not a pleasant experience for invaders. Not on the level of a Green Beret or your average 11b, but perfect for make a stink then leave them to smell it like crop dusting in a grocery store. So if someone like me can do that, and we have all the door kicking types out there too... man, its a really bad idea to come and try to force us to do anything.

@6806goats1 my thing was logistics, transportation, moving people and things around by air. My whole life revolves around it, I rebuild muscle cars and old trucks, my house is made with shipping containers, and I use wooden pallets for many things. So there is a lot more that I can teach than just ambushes and area denial. Wars are won by logistics just as much as by decent weaponry. Imagine what I could do to disrupt their logistics....

@michaeldubya I-80 which stretches almost the entire width of the US, has thousands of miles that are on flat ground, arrow straight and the road way can handle fully loaded C5s and 747s easily. Then you have I-40, I-90 and I-70 which are somewhat shorter but also have long stretches of runway if needed. The infrastructure is bad in blue cities, they don't like to keep things in good condition. The rest of is is kept up quite well. I travel 90, 80, and sometimes 70 every summer pulling old cars around.
