  2.  @murderouskitten2577  except for the morale aspect of doing something. The Doolittle Raid did very little to Japan, but did have a noted effect on the US morale at a time when the news from the Pacific was almost all baby.

  3.  @gregorywright4918  the Doolittle raid highlighted a gap in the Japanese defensive perimeter and was a factor in the Battle of Midway but Yamamoto had been pushing for a campaign in the central Pacific to destroy the US carriers, something that his opponents in the Army had been against.
