  1.  @grizwoldphantasia5005  the wing hard points weren't fitted to the B-17G. The last model they were fitted to were the B-17F. This meant in theory they could carry 17,600lb of bombs, 8,000lb of which were carried external. Range or altitude had to be sacrificed to carry this load. Either an operational range of 790 miles at 25,000ft or 1,170 miles at 6,000ft.
