  1. I suspect that Gavin told Browning that he intended to take the high ground and the Reichswald before taking the bridge and Browning accepted this. I suspect the Generals are like all busy managers - they accept the suggestions of lower level managers and staff. The big question is why would Browning want to delay the ground forces of Operation Garden from reaching Arnhem?
