  1. totally not instant unless one parent is german already. :D by marriage: 3 years residence together and 2 years married. if you wed the german early, you just have to sit out the 3 years residence. marriages by germans standards only. as marriage means residence rights in germany, you have to wait those 3 years but it is almost safe you will end up with german citizenship.
