He can't launch them himself. He needs a whole string of people passing that command willing to do it for putin even though everything is lost already. Seems unlikely to be honest.

@sebastiaanl9876 it is impossible to occupy a country where the population is determined to see you out. Many, many have tried in the over the centuries. And they all failed. Even in recent history russia tried it in afghanistan, and the left with their heads in shame. And then the americans tried and it ended in the same way. The americans tried it in vietnam as well, and i mean they really tried there, and in the end they also had to leave fruitless. This will not be any different. It is simply impossible for russia to bring this to a good end.

Russia is burning trough men and equipment quickly. And time is not on his side, every month this war goes on the harder it will become for russia to keep hanging on. He needs to strike now if he ever wants to win this but he simply doesn't have the men to do it or the supplies. If he had, it wouldn't have taken months to take soledar using only artillery and sending wave after wave of under equiped and hardly trained men. They don't have the ability to scale up their industrial or fiscal capability to feed this war what it needs, the millitary industry has been barely ticking over for decades. This is not how a capable and properly equiped army fights, these are ww2 desperation tactics when losing is no option because it will mean losing everything. They conduct war like an army that is being invaded and needs to do whatever it takes to kick the invader out. Not like an army that is invading and has things under control.
