I'm really sorry that this happened to you... On the bright side you are free now and you can get to know God for real if you so choose. It has been my personal experience that true believers become your real family when you get saved. That may or may not be blood relatives. And it requires no church membership or tithe, etc. Even Jesus said that his real family were those that truly did the will of God and He wants to dwell with them for all eternity (for real). Please don't give up hope because God is still on the throne! No, we can't be gods like Him, but we are meant to have a relationship with Him, our Heavenly Father and our Creator. Sadly there are groups that even try to corrupt what the wonderful King James Bible teaches. For example, Hebrew Roots, SDA, Mormons and even the "garage eaters" cult uses the KJV and totally twist what it says. But you are correct, we need to study the KJV for ourselves and stick with sound Bible teachers that genuinely love the pure word of God, not adding or taking away from it. Peter, Titus was raised SDA and his parents are still part of the church. He is teaching the very same doctrines. It would be a great idea to do a series on SDA. As the other comment mentioned there are links between JWs, Mormons, SDA. They are essentially off-shoots of groups that all formed during "the Second Great Awakening".

Peter, exploring these religions is great. It has since come to light that Titus is actually a Seventh Day Adventist so you inadvertently covered that group too. I pray that one day you will interview genuine Bible-believing Christians that preach and teach just the Bible. They aren't part of any large organized church system and their main concerns are getting people eternally saved and correct Biblically sound doctrine! The true plan of salvation is extremely simple and anyone can get saved by GENUINE faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. I think he was by far the most interesting person to listen to in the entire series. The downfall is worrying about pleasing a church and not the Lord Jesus Christ. God is pleased when we have a genuine relationship with Him and love HIM. 1 John 4:19 KJV - We love him, because he first loved us.

Here's a hint as to why. Titus is a Seventh Day Adventist and Mormonism, SDA and Jehovah's Witnesses were all groups formed during the same time period. They were all straying from mainstream Christianity and thought that all other Christians were apostate. They all have extra-biblical books, prophets and a works based salvation system. So essentially religious cousins... Just not actually Christians as so many may think.

Loving their own sin is usually the reason that unbelievers never get saved to begin with. We first must understand that we are all wretched sinners in need of a perfect Savior and that we are entirely incapable of ever saving ourselves with our righteousness or good works. This is not what this church teaches at all and people are not getting saved within it. That could explain why they may live like the lost world when they leave the church and enter the lost world. Because they are lost as all unbelievers are. I think he was fair, respectful and candid in expressing his opinion and what he actually experienced. It would be more inspiring if he didn't throw out Jesus in the process however. The Mormons don't own Him.

Abraham and Jacob only had a couple of wives and it is clear that it caused problems in the Bible. Those were exceptions, not the rule. Not a command. The Bible is full of mankind's sin. Baptizing the dead and communicating with the dead is not pleasing to God. How could it possible be when God forbids it? Mormons believe that God is a created being that was once a man and that men can achieve godhood just like God. That is a lie from Satan.

He had 30 - 40 wives; he even took wives from their husbands and forced his first wife to accept his adultery. The BoM is a plagiarized work of fiction that has no archaeological evidence. A great number of believers wouldn't even consider Mormons, "Christians" because they believe in another God and another gospel entirely. That is why they are called Mormons. It is extremely challenging to find a solid, doctrinally sound church. The best we can hope for is leaders that do not sweep serious failures under the rug and thus make the Lord look bad, as Satan desires. A personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ and serious study is of the utmost importance. There are so many amazing preachers and teachers online also that we are blessed with being able to hear and learn from. We are close to the Lord's return! It's time to get ready! Really sad how they have completely twisted doctrine and denigrated the word of God. The BOM has no archaeological evidence! Meanwhile the Bible has plenty. Even secular experts will admit that Jesus Christ was a real person. The Bible is full of real people, events and places.

Perhaps try listening to a free audio KJV Bible. There is a good dramatized one in my playlist and the one narrated by Alexander Scourby is considered a classic. I know of a trucker who learned the Bible really well this way. I pray that it is a blessing to you.

You could not truly classify them as Christian because they tried to rebel against traditional Christian teachings and they thought all other regular Christians were false.

I am a former unbeliever that was raised without God and told that I didn't need religion to be a "good person". These groups deceive people in believing things that are contrary to the Bible and the very nature of God. Satan's goal is to subvert people's faith and turn them into unbelievers because of their failings... But they aren't Biblical and they don't even represent God. In fact, it has been my personal experience that the vast majority of these denominations are false, believing false things. However God is still real and so is God's word. They aren't fooling me to turn my back on God.

The main problem is that many parents are teaching their children lies, not that they are teaching them, which is their responsibility. Unbelievers also "indoctrinate" their own children into their belief system. The original meaning of that word just means "to teach". Through my own person search for truth I came to faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and in God's word. Nobody forced me and I escaped my own childhood "indoctrination" as a heathen child. No church membership required. Proverbs 22:6 KJV - Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. John 8:32 KJV - And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

However believers today are spiritually the bride/wife of Christ and will spend eternity worshiping Him. God is our Heavenly Father and the Lord Jesus Christ is His only begotten son. God wants a wonderful bride for His Son. All that being said if family members and friends are born again they will be together with us in eternity also. We will still get to have fellowship with all believers as well as the Lord. It is going to be amazing. This is why all believers should be very interested in helping their loved ones come to faith. The other option is horrifying.

@vodkachild JWs, Seventh Day Adventists and Mormons are connected because they were created around the same time by similar groups that were leaving mainstream Christianity. They all believe in prophets and have extra materials in addition to the Bible to suit their own beliefs.
