Yeah get rid of the fair pay agreement we couldn't possibly have workers being treated fairly
32
Australia never brought in the employment contracts act like New Zealand did and they have fair pay agreements and they do a lot better than New Zealand does
26
New Zealand is stuffed and it's the housing market that's the ultimate cause. The cost of buying a house and the rents is bleeding people dry and it's not going to get any better because greed rules in New Zealand. Tte politicians know more supply is the key to reducing house prices and rents but they won't do it because they don't want to get on the wrong side of home owning voters and a lot of politicians also own multiple houses so they have no interest in solving the problem
25
National has never given a damn about poor people and they never will
20
@marksvideochannel3592 you were held in lockdown until vaccination rates were high enough. Our health system is weak we have less intensive care units per capita than a lot of other countries and it would have been crushed if the virus had spread through an unvaccinated population. Maybe people in Auckland should demand this national led government increase the number of intensive care beds across the country so when the next virus hits the country won't need to lockdown because the health system is strong enough to stand up to it
13
Get rid of division by targetting poor people and everything Maori🤦
12
This country needs affordable housing and people being able to access decent food, medical care and dental. ACT needs to get its priorities straight.
10
@TJH-111 they're making these cuts to fund their tax cut programme.
9
This new government is anything but awesome
9
@icehawke543 that's great for Australia and for kiwis moving over there. National and act are so ideologically driven they just can't see that screwing over workers ends up a drag on the economy because people are so poor they have no spending power
8
@ungarr should we have private healthcare for all like in America where poor people can't afford it.
8
Yep going to be awesome watching the rents keep going up along with house prices
7
The top 10% will prosper no one else will.
7
This country isn't united it's split into the rich/poor camp and homeowners/renters
6
@greyhamlogan2255 she's not pushing a narrative she's holding him to account on his policies
6
@garywillis8737 it's pretty obvious if house prices went down their house prices go down so they have no interest in increasing supply
6
@JacowateHamaeran as long as housing as seen as a business rather than a human necessity nothing is changing in this country
6
Yep the property investors are back in business rents and house prices will climb the poor will stay poor and be scapegoated for everything wrong in the country.
6
@dontcomply3976 even if they remove the RMA we don't have the building capacity to get ahead of population growth so there will be a shortfall of housing which means increasing rents and house prices. Our population has been increasing every year at an insane rate the last 12 months it increased by around 110,000.
5
Keep dreaming all you have to look forward to is higher rents and house prices. This country is stuffed
5
@ujaytan6649 supply and demand effects house prices. If there aren't enough houses to met demand prices go up.
5
No it's the best result for the top 10% everyone else can get prepared for more rent increases and increased house prices.
5
@DISTBD Australia never tried to screw their workers over the employment contracts act was brought in to keep wages down. I remember Bill English on TV taking about New Zealand being a low wage economy like it was a good thing
5
@hapeta24 The housing problems were already there under John key and under labour continued to get worse. Nothing is going to change under this government we don't have enough houses for the people who are here now and the last 12 months we have increased our population by over 100K. We don't have the housing supply to support the population so rents and house prices are going to keep climbing it's simple supply and demand.
4
@MandySam13 yeah keep dreaming rents and house prices are going to keep climbing people will continue to struggle to find affordable accommodation and eat, access health care and the resulting social dysfunction and crime will continue
4
You can forget law and order while people can't access affordable accommodation, food, medical care, dental care. Rents and house prices are going to keep increasing pushing people to the wall and the crime will continue
4
@ujaytan6649 look at rents when there aren't enough rentals available the prices go up when there is more rentals available and people have more options the rents go down the landlords can't demand so much because people won't pay it they just go somewhere else
4
@ungarr labour couldn't fix any of the problems because they couldn't fix housing. The cost of buying houses and renting is destroying people's lives and the levels of immigration the last 20 years have been insane. If National can't get affordable housing on the market they're going to fail in everything else just like labour did.
4
@richardwendt9266 yep and it's obvious what parties they support National and ACT
4
If you're in the top 10% you will be looked after other than that nothing is going to change
4
@mikecoote9546 house prices are going to climb they have let the property investors know it's back to business and we have huge immigration numbers while we can't even provide housing for the people that are here now. It's simple supply and demand
4
Law and order 😂😂 the government thinks they can have a country where people can't access accomodation, food, medical care and dental and not suffer social dysfunction. The clowns are going to find out the hard way they can't arrest their way out of the countries problems
3
What should she be doing ? pandering to him asking lots of nice easy questions
3
@Gumpmachine1 the poor can see a lot more than you think and they know when they're getting screwed over. It's all National ever does to people at the bottom remove collective agreements to isolate workers so they're easier to push around.
3
No they're trying to go back to the John keys years when the property investors were having a field day and workers could be sacked within 90 days with no reason given
3
He's getting held to account and it's not anywhere near what jacinda Adern had done to her
3
@whyamihere7489 Ryan Bridge doesn't even try to hide his right wing bias
3
Nothing is going to change under the clowns that are in charge now.
3
What's to come is rent increases and rising house prices the only people that have anything to look forward to are the top 10%
3
@icehawke543 bring in what?
3
@boomslang2703 you want to know why there is such a need for all the subsidies in this country it's because the bulk of the nations wealth is in the hands of a minority of people and that's by design. Figures were released a couple of years ago and the bottom 50% of the population had 2% of nations wealth it's a disgrace and the reason there is so much dysfunction in New Zealand society.
3
Your not getting anything
3
@ungarr I read up on the costs of health insurance in the US about a year ago and the average kiwi wouldn't be able to afford it people are already living pay check to pay check. The US health system is brutal that's why Obama tried to make changes to it
3
@ZingZingNZ No one has threatened Chris luxon
2
@maieldmik5233 yes I do know it for a fact the country is experiencing mass immigration and we don't have the homes to provide to these people and building consents are down. When demand outstrips supply prices go up. Where there's a will there's a way but funny home ownership rates are dropping and it's because the prices are forcing people out of the market.
2
Wow that's really original 🤡
2
@MountainRarker New Zealand has been fed that narrative since the 80' and the country has got worse
2
@DouglasFir90 National pays the minimum towards the poor they don't give a damn about them
2
@ujaytan6649 yes when you have a lot of something available it's cheaper when you have a scarcity of something and supply doesn't match demand prices go up. In Christchurch they built a lot of houses after the earthquake and the result was in Christchurch there was no shortage of supply and average prices were lower than in other major centres
2
@Gumpmachine1 they understand when people are putting lower conditions in front of them.
