@Intreductor If not, then explain to me why green policies have made such strides, for example? These policies are clearly detrimental to the European economy and none of average life in any Member State wants it, as such mandates would destroy their standard of living. Yet, despite these proposals being shot down numerous times, in the 80s, 90s and 2000s, even as in the first years of last decade, here we are in 2023 on track for the mass-imposition of these very despised policies.
This, as well as many other instances shows clearly that whatever the bureaucratic elite want, they will get regardless of what the electorate they claim to represent want.

@tomorrowneverdies567 Well, in terms of my own country; the United Kingdom, the EU played a massive role in our deracination and relocation of sovereignty from Westminister to itself in Brussels. Many of the pressing issues we suffer with today have their origins laid in the EU - Arguably the most concerning, being that of mass-immigration is a policy routinely enforced by the Union and was the focal issue that led to Brexit. In terms of economics, instead of Britain retaining its own fiscal and trade interests, which we were in prime position to do, our successive post-war governments submitted their policy to the Union at our own expense. To this day, the rich energy deposits in the North Sea remain untapped, due to the legacy of Union restrictions, which our traitorous politicans have gleefully continued despite our ostensible exit.
This same story can be retold for every other nation under the EU's yoke, as Europe collectively suffers from the mandates of self-appointed bureaucrats.
