  2. -miniorities are less connected with ukraine, thus less likely to emphatize with ukrainians. also language barriers possibly. -ethnic cleansing -doesnt have to recruit the more educated citizens who might be less keen on supporting russia if they get drafted.

  4. i mean, i hate to use the word since its been so eroded by social politics but, this is toxic masculinity at its peak. Russia is so "manly" that not only are men expected to fight and die in their thousands, and because they've been brought up in such a ruthless masculine culture any weakness, including seeking refuge, is beyond taboo. its a fucked up situation overall.
