I do recall Putin saying that tactical nukes are an option if Russian borders are threatened.

@hasdagger1916 So long as the Russian speaking peoples of the Donbas are not directly targeted by Ukrainian forces Russia has no interest in invading Ukraine. Russia can neutralise and destroy any belligerent Ukrainian forces without crossing inside Ukrainian territory.

Russia is not going to use tactical nukes against Ukraine, Nuclear weapons are a deterrent, they cause the NATO belligerent to take pause and rethink its actions, given the possible consequence.

Rest assured the Russians know how to fight and win, they will be utterly ruthless in the defence of Russian territory of which they will not hesitate, not for 1 moment.

Given that the US is deploying weapons systems thousands of miles from its territory in other states on the other side of the planet, then Russia surely could do the same.

@cleusiocabinda8613 Yes, the deployment of Iskander Missiles on Russian territory has nothing directly to do with Ukraine, the missile deployment is in direct response to NATO expansion that threatens the Russian Federation.The sad thing is that because of NATO belligerence Ukraine may well become the "killing field" that this exchange, should push come to shove occurs on.

@williammckenna6717 The Russian people of Crimea voted to be governed by Moscow and rejected the corrupt regime in Kiev, Crimea as indeed Chechnya is Russian sovereign territory, as indeed California is sovereign US territory. I believe in the right to self determination, but It is not me you need to convince that referendum will automatically result in independence, if that were the case then you would support the Palestinian peoples right to an independent state in rejection of Jewish Apartheid?
