The real question is, is the US Prepared to risk Pelosi's plane being shot down over yet another foolish US stunt, if the US insists on taking this path the Chinese will scramble its jets to intercept and possibly force Pelosi's plane down in PRC territory or force it to divert to Japan, any hostile military response from the US jets escorting Pelosi could possibly cost Pelosi her life, triggering a major military confrontation between nuclear powers.

  2. Article 23  of Hong Kong basic law as agreed to between the UK and China stipulated that the Hong Kong government implement a national security law. "The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region shall enact laws on its own to prohibit any act of treason, secession, sedition, subversion against the Central People's Government, or theft of state secrets, to prohibit foreign political organizations or bodies from conducting political activities in the Region, and to prohibit political organizations or bodies of the Region from establishing ties with foreign political organizations or bodies"  The fact is that the Hong Kong government never enacted Article 23 of the basic law.   All China has done is to rectify what the HK Government failed to do.
