@ThaOneChrisJONES It is called the right to self-determination, sovereignty is vested in the legitimate inhabitants of a territory, in this case, the legitimate inhabitants of Crimea exercised their self-determination to come under the authority of Russia after the US and Ukraine ignored the legally voted Leader and deposed him in an illegal coup-de-tat and installed its own unelected puppet Poroshenko. Surely you do not believe that staging a coup de tat and installing a puppet regime in place of an elected government as an exercise in democracy?
