Their lord and saviour Reagan indeed. The majority in Congress, both sides of the aisles, do support Ukraine. It's easy to forget that when the media keep giving unwarranted coverage to the lunatics and traitors. Between the media and the bots, it's easy to think our whole country has lost its way.

Biden wanted to visit Kiev almost a year ago, but his security detail was completely against it -- thus the months of planning that went into this visit. It's surprising how much power they have when they're charged with guarding the President's life. Trump wanted to visit the capitol on Jan 6, but his security detail wouldn't allow it. It appears their orders are to protect the President, not to obey the President.

You always add a perspective I had not thought of, Jake. I'm concerned about the Ukraine losses since a news spot on Biden's visit stated Ukraine has lost a quarter of a million lives. Russia has lost only half that? We must step up the weapons delivery. The politician excuses about it taking time to ramp up is not cutting it. If Russia were bombing any of our own countries, we'd be ramped up like yesterday. It would be an all-out effort.

I wish the UN would use the same logic to kick Russia out. Technically, only the USSR was admitted to membership. Russia's presence in the UN effectively neuters the whole body.

Biden has stuttered his entire life. So did Moses. It doesn't prevent either of them from being a great leader. Get over it.

So they wouldn't bomb Kiev and chance killing the US President and get completely wiped off the earth in return. Or as they like to call it in the media "for deconfliction purposes."

good comparison to Israel's leadership.

George jr would probably have lost his re-election except for his war on terror. Sometimes it is less about wages, food, and housing, than about honor. Not saying the re-election was a good thing, only that his position on the international scene had a big part in his getting votes.

What a funny and clever way to put that last bit. The ghost of Biden would be much much worse for Putin's future than the walking talking Biden.

Good point. Putin clearly does not want to trigger a war with all of NATO or he would have bombed Kiev during Biden's visit. On the other hand, a year ago Putin thought NATO was weak, and he was right. It only became unified and strong after Putin invaded Ukraine.

Upvoted you for the title alone :)

Always a debatable point. China's economy has been slipping a bit lately, so I think China is more concerned about its economic ties with the West than its political closeness to Russia. In that sense integrating China into the larger economy is working in the West's favor. It gives more leverage to possible sanctions if China gives lethal support to Russia.

@Lessons in Logic The troll knows that; I'm seeing the same comment in multiple places about Biden asking permission. pfff. Guess the Ohio and Nordstream misdirections weren't working for them.

I think Jake's point was not to say Biden visited Kiev as part of his reelection campaign strategy. The point is that his visiting Kiev, showing his colors fully, while also planning to run for reelection, means he is fully committed to Ukraine's win. Or to put it more starkly, if Kiev falls, Biden falls.
