  1. You guys are aware, that the fed in the US does not fall under the president but under the congress? Thus inflation is only to some extend in the hands of the US president. Also: JAPAN could also fight inflation by its own and not just complain about the US-dollar. I also want to remind every japanese, that the alliance with the US is LITRALLY on the top spot of their public defense plans.... like litrally Japan is under the US nuclear umbrella. Pacifism does not work currently! Also if done well, defense spending can increase arms production and thus also push the economy. The idea of things geeting more peaceful or cheaper without the US as an ally is.... short sighted. Just ask your own defense planners what they think about that plan.

  2. The think is, that people as usual dont understand that the best way to gurantee peace is to be armed enough to be a target not worth the effort for a bigger power. See Swedne and Finnland as examples prior to joining NATO. Aka: You remain peaceful, by being able to deter your enemy and thus forcing them to join the diplomatic table. When you are not milltiary strong, the other party can dictate you things, because IT knows that if the die are cast it will win.
