  1.  @MostlyPennyCat  check out Ian's video on the 9x39, his guest mentions the guy who invented the "groza" bullpup. How he was not a shooter, and failed to realize that the ejection port being located directly under your eyeball would be "unpleasant" and even more on a suppressed gun. Sometimes there's no amount of training and study that can make up for experience.

There's also the difference that plenty of guns already work, it's not like they were inventing into an unexplored world.. when I'm going to do something not in my realm, I TRY it first. If I want to bake a cake, I'm going to EAT some cake before I put my recipe in the oven, so I at least have some expectations for the result.

  4.  @tjp353  no. Sorry but that's bs. You think Carrol Shelby didn't know how to drive? Sure you CAN make anything that you have zero expertise in, but it's gonna suck ass. Funny you mention boeing since their max plane is not fit to fly, either by pilot or engineer standards. They're into the realm of techies thinking they can "program out" physics.
