@Zane the difference between afghanistan and korea is in part cultural. afghanistan is very cultural so they dont look at long term, only immediate gains so they willing to sell out. its why the afghan army calapsed so quick, they sold out to the taliban and cut a deal with them. so the corruption reported in afghan government trickled down to the military leadership of the afghan army. its why a marshall plan was not feasible in afghanistan with tribal culture, where as in south korea and japan it was a success because its largely a homogenous society and they believe in working together for a better future.

@williamzk9083 tribal as in mentality of short term gain rather than looking at the long view and working together. afghans when i say tribal, they are short sighted and looking for short term gain. its why aghan army sold out to taliban and ran. so in reality the americans were justified in leaving because it would have been the same if they stayed there another 10 years with 10 more years of training.

@DeniatitadenCompostela the difference between america and russia/soviet union, america doesnt go bankrupt after wars. in the end vietnam became a democracy.

@DM-dn7rf they are not like russia or china lol. they allies of the americans. and so when china invades taiwan all those international companies that have factories there will shut down overnight and just shift production to the factories in vietnam they already set up in case china does something stupid. some have already left like most of the japanese companies.

@paul russian deny ukrainians had any successful attack in crimea because it is an embarassment for government explaining ukrainians are able to hit inside crimea which they consider russian. so they simply denying it because the alternative is to present to russian public they are incompetent. This was a huge embarassment to putin so they are saying it was an accident, so putin doesnt look like his army is incompetent. same deal with moskva russia said it wasnt ukraine that sunk the ship and only 1 sailor died in the moskva sinking.
