So much unnecessary farming. Stop growing grain for animal feed and fuel and there will be much more room for nature. Also control the use of pesticides much closer and punish misuse.

And how much is already lost

@aneeshprasobhan yes some times. However change won't come from consumer choices, particularly when wages too low to only make the ethical choices. Government and international legislative changes are needed to address this. Ban many of the pesticides, remove subsidies for any farming that isn't growing food for people, place tariffs on the import of livestock and meat.

Things that kill more birds than wind power: buildings, vehicles, pesticides, power lines, cats. Guess you suddenly care about the birds because of some ulterior motive. The EU is the kind of institution that's needed to stand up to big Ag. Individual countries are easier to bully. Just look at how the UK lobbied to keep neonicotinoids on the market.

@reyofunnyon7757 I live in an area where all I see is corn, many many kilometers of corn grown in all directions. This isn't going to be eaten by people, most is for live stock some is for bioethanol. None of these farms are doing anything necessary, they survive on subsidies to produce things we don't need while poisoning the land. Changing the population won't stop that. I fully support reducing the human population and I have chosen not to have children because of it, but we have to recognise that that is a long term goal and we need to make changes fast if we are going to save our fauna.

@reyofunnyon7757 they spray non food corn with pesticides that aren't allowed on corn for human consumption, but yes, it's all bad. Extinction is a one way process and future generations will not thank us for our careless destruction of nature.

Yeah some people even believe in chemtrails so much that they don't actually stand up to the real polluters. Brainwashing may be closer to you than you think.

Population in Europe has been pretty stable for 30 years, insects populations have dropped dramatically. This is about land use, not population.

Bedbugs come from other people with bedbugs, not nature.
