@MatthewChenault you say “throw lives away”, but what’s the alternative? Surrender to an invader? Why wouldn’t you fight for the survival of your country?

@MatthewChenault apparently Russia does. And has in the past. Many times, it’s own allies. Just ask the Czechs, Hungarians, and Georgians. America, believe it or not, is not the only imperialistic power.

In order to be a neutral buffer state they Would 1) have to have the ability to fight both NATO and Russia if there neutrality was threatened And 2) have ZERO foreign troops or bases on there territory. Ukraine is not capable of the 1st requirement because unlike Switzerland or Sweden, it doesn’t have the money, military industry or advantageous terrain to fight off invaders by its self. And Russia’s Naval bases in Crimea would prevent them from achieving requirement 2. Not that Russia was ever going to give up its naval base, thus this war was inevitable the minuet Russia annexed Crimea.

Eh, that depends if Ukraine’s mobile reserves and partisan can put up the same fight they did around kyiv. I’m confident they’ll stop the Russians with all that fire power NATO is sending now.

@buni1934 they were at Kyiv too. But in time, they wore the Russians down and counter attacked. I’m confident they’ll do it here too.

@kiro6119 in two months, both sides will be fighting with sticks if they haven’t came to an agreement yet. But there’s no fricken way Russia is winning this shit show of a war.

Well Russian cities have been attacked by ballsy Ukrainian helicopters raids and missile attacks, a Russian cruiser was sunk last week, the Ukrainian capital is still secured, the UAF is still contesting the skies, and Russian tank crews are still getting fried by advanced ATGMS l. Sure, Ukrainian cities are being bombed, but the Russians, over 50 days later, still haven’t taken there objectives, and are running out of readily available men and material.

Well that would mean the west just suddenly stopped assisting Ukraine. Which is very unlikely right now. Next to impossible in fact.

@MatthewChenault again, now that their country is being invaded, you just expect them to roll over and take it? Any idea of “well X person could have done Y to prevent this” is irrelevant at this point. And I hope they fight like hell for their independence. The Ukrainians are free to do what ever they want.
