i'm betting that it wasn't an organization at all. probably some high up executives made that call. they have a lot of crazy, conservative, christian nut jobs who rose through the ranks and acquired some power at walmart. plus i've seen them in the past pull stunts like that before. years ago they said that they wouldn't sell books by jon stewart or al franken because the books "offend some people" and yet were selling books by rush limbayugh, bill o'reilly and newt gingrich. they perobably made the whole thing up about protest groups and instead it was really a few wackjobs on the inside who made that call to pull cosmo.

i remember years ago walmart said that they wouldn't sell books by jon stewart or al franken because they had a policy about not selling offensive books yet they were selling books by rush limbaugh, bill o'reilly and newt gingrich. lol they also used to sell meat products which in would assume would offend some vegans. walmart is based in arkansas and i get the feeling that they think that small town people in arkansas represent the general consensus of how americans think and feel on things.

it's probably a tiny percentage of the population but what walmart is doing is a typical walmart move. years ago they said that they wouldn't sell books by jon stewart and al franken because they might "offend some people" and yet were selling books by rush limbaugh, bill o'reilly and newt gingrich. they said that they had a policy about not wanting to sell products that might offend some people. oh yeah, they sell beef jerky and other meat products which i would assume would offend some vegans.

i'm more irritated with walmart. i'll bet nobody was protesting it. they tried that shit years ago when they said that they wouldn't sell jon stewart and al franken's books because they "offend some people" and yet were selling books by rush limbaugh, bill o'reilly and newt gingrich. a few right wing nut jobs who rose through the ranks at walmart didn't like the magazine and wanted it pulled and then said that they were doing it because of protest groups. walmart likes to have these right wing nut jobs in executive positions. i guess it's because they are based in arkansas and started out there.
