it sounds ironic. this lady gets a life sentence and sadistic ladies who get a thrill out of their boyfriends molesting their kids don't get punished. i wish that there was a way for there to be more balance in how the law is enforced.

i thought of that one too. nobody is born a violently out of control monster. i also haven't read anybody defending her much except to say that she tried to leave but couldn't. still a jail sentence would be appropriate if she really just sat there and watched it all happen but not a life sentence like her husband. the one who committed the crime is worse than the one who watched it happen and decided that they wouldn't do anything.

is that analogy similar to the story?

***** i'm talking about violent behavior and not typical selfish, self-serving behavior. if someone grows up and is never exposed to violence then there won't be an impulse to act out violently.

i get that feeling too. maybe she thought that severe forms of corporal punishment on kids was normal considering her own background and just thought that her son was being punished in a normal way.

chris b i heard that from a biological point of view women release a chemical in their brain called oxy-cosin whenever they have sex and this chemical leads them to attach themselves to their partner and in cases of abuse, work against them and make it harder for them to psychologically break away and leave the abuser.

i believe in continuing to put pressure on moms like this but that is going too far. it sounds like the system failed her all her life.
