5 year prison sentence over an honest mistake that didn't really harm anything compared to other crimes that get maybe a month for doing more harm to someone than what this black lady did. her being on probation is still not an excuse. the sentence is so heavy handed that i suspect that the judge who sentenced her might possibly have a deal made with privatized prisons.

@stricklinator the video also mentioned that a texas judge got 5 years probation for tampering with ballots. that sounds 100x worse than accidentally voting when you weren't allowed to vote but didn't know about it.

@comma kazi 5 years in prison? meanwhile a judge in the same state as her got 5 years probation for tampering with ballots. that's 100x worse than the black lady making a mistake and thinking that she could vote, then voting and then finding out that she wasn't eligible to vote afterwards. do you really not see something fishy about that?

i would think that a 750 dollar fine for both of the ladies and 5 years in prison for the judge who tampered with the ballots would've been fair. plus i'm wondering if the judge who sentenced the black woman to 5 years in prison didn't have a deal made with privatized prison.

@kongo bongo 5 years in prison sounds really heavy all of the same. especially over something that not only is a tiny infraction but also one that wasn't done intentionally. i suspect something might be going on between the judge and privatized prisons.

they like to punish prisoners when they are in prison here. they won't even let gay people hook up in prisons technically. lol if they catch them........they throw them in the hole for 30 days.

i don't think too many felons care to vote in the first place.

@bartj583 felons are assumed to be sociopaths or psychopaths. they don't want people like that influencing an election. that is unless you have money and a position of power already and then ......O-o

@atrax how about a 750 dollar fine for both of the ladies and 5 years in prison for the judge who tampered with the ballots?

i'll bet there was something going on between the judge and privatized prisons.
