Helms472388 if he was right in his prediction then how can he be a moron?

Cerealkiller right now it doesn't look like we the americans are going to be the winners here.

i think that the bush administration might have just done us all in and the best thing to do now is contain ISIS.

Killacamfoo O.G. would you rather that no news reports were put out that exposed the truth on what the bush administration did? this is a huge mistake and what we are seeing now is a result of these huge mistakes and it needs to be reported if we are to understand the situation right now. the truth might be tough to face but it is necessary in order for us to all grow and move on and hopefully not repeat the same mistakes. the alternative of ignoring it would be a form of media manipulation and corruption as far as i can see and it would lead to us all allowing our government to keep on screwing us the way that they have been screwing us. if anyone is a traitor then it would be you and your fear of admitting and facing the truth.

Killacamfoo O.G. i did research on islam and the middle-east regions before 9/11 and i laready knew what problems would've arisen if we went into iraq probably before this guy did. i do have two problems with what he said though and they are somewhat connected to each other. the first one is that the USA didn't "create" ISIS but instead created the climate for ISIS to rise up and grow and now things are what they are and secondly ISIS's roots can be traced back to the time when the house of saud took over saudi arabia. there was a group of sunni muslims there that opposed the house of saud ruling and were in favor of the traditional caliphate style of rule. a lot of people labeled them "salafists" but in no time they decided to name themselves "islamic state." that was several decades ago. these ISIS members today represent a different generation but they still seem to stick to the same principles and ideas as the ones in former generations.

it's either demonize us or call our government out for being incredibly stupid and incompetent for not doing their homework and impulsively invading iraq.
2
Cerealkiller unless the usa is committed to potentially having an all out war with casualties in the 10s of millions and a casualty rate far exceeding vietnam on our side then i don't know how we are going to stop ISIS. maybe contain them but not end them the way that the NAZI and imperial japan systems were destroyed after ww2.

why didn't the bush administration realize this fact if it hypothetically were to be true?

PewPewPuffin get real here. a few extremists in africa pale in comparison to the extremism done by self proclaimed muslims in muslim countries. use your brain here. how many people have died in terrorist attacks carried out by christians in the world compared to muslims? case closed and your argument is a ridiculous one to make. how did you ever fall for that bullshit anyways and think that you were making a rational point?
1
Killacamfoo O.G. that's a pretty extreme statement to make to suggest that the media censor out important information form the public in order to promote nationalism and keep the public ignorant and therefore more manipulatable. ignorance is NOT bliss.

loop dahoop personally i have just been talking about the iraq invasion and the mistakes made in intelligence, the lack of foresight and preparation for the obstacles that lied ahead in order to successfully complete the mission there and the mass coverup by the government and the mainstream media along the way. afghanistan is tricky because these guys are mostly primitive, illiterate goat herders. trying to help them form a stable government presents a big challenge to put it mildly. the northern alliance isn't as bad as the taliban but they still have plenty of backward ideas too. i'm not sure what more we can do accept not let the taliban make a full takeover. if they don't want democracy and want an islamic theocracy then what can we really say and do about it?
1
loop dahoop i suppose so. so long as afghanistan doesn't become a place where terrorist cells like to set up base camp then i suppose the mission was an overall success. it would still be nice if the opium crops were allowed to be destroyed and something else could come along that is just as lucrative for the farmers to grow or do.
1
still, why didn't the bush administration see this coming when a little bit of research back in 2002 would've showed them what would happen if they invaded iraq? you don't want to keep pointing fingers and shifting the blame when both are at fault.
1
have you guys ever wondered if there was a media conspiracy in on the iraq invasion as well considering the fact that it only took a little bit of research back in 2002 by anybody from anywhere to figure out what mark danner had figured out back in 2003? i would think that investigative journalists would've done their jobs and figured these things out back then but we had very little of it and the few journalists who did speak out were either fired for it or subtly demoted and pushed out of the discussion.
1
killbop yeah, i noticed that one. the government sure did blow and take advantage of that fact.
1
RappelKarton what kind of things helped al zarqawi recruit people?
1
that would be beside the point though. it isn't radical like radical islam today and that's what matters.
1
varocks183 yeah but we are the latest country to fuck things up though. if russia or china does something really stupid to fuck things up in the world then they will be next.
1
Dangerous Era you are right and everything that you said is a confirmed fact now.
1
maybe one day historians will be able to tell us which one it is.
