what's happening is that china doesn't need to play nice with us anymore and so they aren't playing nice. they think that we need them more than they need the usa.

Zhou Sophie nobody in the world plays that game if you want to know the facts. also the reason why china is "disrespecting" the usa isn't because of past slights but instead it is because china has the upper hand on the usa. that is unfortunately how the international game of politics is played. i hate the way they do things but nevertheless that i how it is. actually it was the UN that declared "china's island" to be japan's. i'm glad that the usa financed the tibetan exiles if they really did. the chinese murdered and brutalized them and force them into exile. the whole world except the chinese people know about this fact. financing taiwan? so what. they didn't want to be a part of maoist china and drove the maoist army out of taiwan and declared themselves independent of china. i know that they are predominantly han like most chinese but that doesn't matter. trying to use that as an excuse would be like if the usa tried to invade canada and justify it by saying that we are ethnically the same therefore they should be a part of the usa. as far as east turkestan, i don't know what is going on there. my guess is that there is probably some kind of independence movement going on

i think that they are usa haters and the fact that china isn't nearly as war mongering combined with the fact that they are often times openly communists who don't value democracy and human rights and would rather live in a totalitarianistic society if it means more peace with their neighbors.
1
Dakev Kor no and i am aware of that fact. still tell that to these naive commies who are still in college and wet behind the ears. that is china's perception compared to the usa. i'm explaining how these people think.
1
Dakev Kor noticed that i said "not nearly as war mongering" too. so far we have been in 2 wars since the beginning of this century and every time the word war is mentioned, the usa always seems to be some kind of player in the conflict. even the conflict between china and its neighbors (japan, south korea, vietnam, phillipines, thailand, etc) still directly involves the usa in that the usa by treaty would be obligated to defend these countries in case of a war. i'm not saying that the usa shouldn't defend them but still it is true that we are more war mongering then china is.
1
Tofu ironically, mexico and canada don't hate the usa quite as much as most of the world but still there is truth to what you said. russia has a lot of haters in eastern europe too.

A Artisan china would like to get their hands on some islands in the pacific rim that are rich in natural gas though. they would also like to set up shop with their businesses all around the world too. they want an empire too. they just want an economic empire and not a military one.
1
A Artisan i suppose so. its also a lot smarter way to go too i'll admit. the military buildup here in the usa is really a money making scheme for the government and for some people in the weapons making business. even china is in on the same kind of scam although i doubt that china intends to use their military or the weapons that they have been designing.
1
A Artisan if china is making money off of the military buildup, there is more to it then them just being afraid of the usa military.

obsidianstatue the thing is that those jobs in china were outsourced there (as well as a lot of other places in the world) which meant that people lost jobs that paid far more than minimum wage and the jobs that popped up to replace them were minimum wage jobs while the millionaire owners, CEOs and top executives literally became over 20x wealthier than everybody else. in other words, this system has lead to the richer elite becoming richer and gaining more power and control in our political system meanwhile we here in the usa, the middle-class has been shrinking every year and the poor class has been growing every year. it's become a real economic problem for us. the rich owners are trying to start a class war with us all for some reason. i think that communism and/or socialism would be a really bad idea for the usa but still the kind of capitalism that the usa practices now is not benefiting us americans. it only benefits the exceedingly wealthy.
1
Aeneas Fredomis war is fought over money. you can't have a war if there isn't any money involved.
1
***** i think that you missed my point. with money, you can gain power. all of that "money is an illusion" essay is getting off the topic.
1
in what ways were the usa disrespecting china?
1
Zhou Sophie one of the biggest reasons why english is considered the international language of business is because it is considered the easiest language to learn. at least that's what i keep hearing from people who speak english as a second language.
1
Zhou Sophie do you want everybody to learn mandarin? that's the hardest language to learn and it normally takes 5 years before someone finally learns it well enough to speak and understand it.
1
Bt Tan to me learning to read and write has always been easier to learn then speaking and understanding what someone is saying.
1
i don't think that we are going to go to war with china anytime soon but with china trying to reclaim islands and fishing spots that are under international law belonging to the phillipiines, japan, thailand and even vietnam, things are going to remain icy. what the usa needs to do is pay off its debt to china and get back some of it's leverage that they gave away when they decided to invade iraq and invest in other military equipment that we didn't need.
1
***** france, the UK, russia not to mention the wealthy gulf arab countries are also big players in funding islamic groups in the middle-east and north africa.
1
***** you mean like when a football team loses, always blame the starting quarterback? still, we did fuck up royally when we invaded iraq although i don't actually see how our fuck up there personally hurt anybody in europe, canada or australia though. you know that 9/10 of them don't give a shit about a million dead iraqis the way that they claim to care. it probably bothers me more than it does them and i'm an american.
1
Zhou Sophie 600 million people? there were only 100 million native throughout the americas and the carribean islands before europeans first discovered the americas. and you actually were taught that the USA alone killed 600 million natives? you never heard of countries like spain, portugal and great britain colonizing the americas? at least when i was told that mao killed 400 million of his fellow chinese people, i figured that it was bullshit. seriously though you have got to quit believing every bullshit thing that you hear from the chinese government and schools because they are making fools of you .
1
Damitri Avan actually it was closer to 1-2 million from what i read. there weren't that many native americans in the usa at the time.
1
***** i think that the chinese are being propagandized to hate our government and making beyond outrageous claims about our history and our government. the chinese also through millenniums of enculturation are extremely gullible when it comes to what their authority figures tell them. if they told them that most americans came from mars then a lot of them would probably believe it. just read what that one chinese girl said. she was taught (knowing what i know, i don't think she made this up btw) that the usa killed 600 million native americans.

***** i heard that there were 25 million aztecs before cortez came to what is now known as mexico. i can't remember how many incas there were either but i believe that the numbers were pretty high and many of the tribe in what is known as the american southwest were pretty large as well. the aztecs alone would hypothetically make up 1/4 of that number by themselves. still, that's what i read. my guess is that it might have been over-inflated but not by too much. anyways most of them didn't even come from what is now known as the usa.
1
Damitri Avan there were some french who with their families joined with southern tribes and from there on saw themselves as members of their adopted tribe, adopted the ways of the tribe and passed down that knowledge to their kids. i have a friend who is a member of one of these southern tribes and him and his cousins, uncles and aunts look as white as other white person.
