A very old , now deceased and missed friend, whenever there was a head bangaing problem being faced would appear and mutter' Right put the kettle on , tea and thinking time'. We did send a large teapot wreath to his funeral.

Careful! There has already been one war started over the issue of Tea. Tea built the British Empire, as 1 It got the peaseants off alcahol, so they sobered up. 2 Because you boil the water to make Tea, they stopped dying of water borne diseases. 3 Also has a genreral anti bacterial effect.

@insertname1667 Soak the cup in a solution of Baking Soda. In London the water is so hard you can eat it, and I drink tea black, so that's the only way I can get cups and flasks clean of the tannin residue.

@hansmueller3029 Ay Lad! or Lass! There ain't nougfht better than a large hot MUG of Rosie on the start of a winters morning! Course you wrap your fingers around the mug, it warms them up! That and a bacon sandwich is what cold clear winter mornings are for! :-)

@willwallacetree Intrestingly, when the wreck of China tea clipper was salvaged recently, the Tea, the expensive cargo was packed in with porcelain. This apparently was a makeweight for a bit of extra income. The prices the porcelain made at auction now were eye watering.

@zacharyrollick6169 Makes the tea the correct strength. A good tea should brew , or rather Infuse. for two or three minutes.

Milk should go in first! If you intend to adulterate good tea with milk anyway (SUGAR!! Food of the Devil), The original idea was the china used in tea cups was subjet to thermal shock and cracked. So the milk cooled it. That's why you Warm the Pot. A friend of mine on his first day as an Aprentice, decided to clean all his workmates Tea Mugs of the thick dark residue. He was made to stand outside in the rain for an hour! You must gently breack in your favourite mug.

Absolutley correct Sir! After the Blenders have worked long and hard to make the perfect belnd, then YOU ADULTERATE it with milk! Let alone Sugar. Incedentally I got that habit from my Farthe, who was from a Welsh Mining family. Cold tea was taken down the mine in bottles, the milk in that state, A spoilt the taste, and B was to expensive.
