  1. At the time a complete change of about 500 years of thinking. I gun = 1 shot , reload, then after a dozen or so shots the barrel so fouled you can't load anyway. Enter smokeless , relitivley non fouling. Ye Gadzooks Sir! The common soldiery can now fire two or more shots one after another! What about the cost?
