PRC used to confront against United Nations force in Korean War, now PRC became important role to support United Nations peacekeeping force in Africa, well some people mocked that China has no combat experience so PLA is a weak coward army, Yes that's so somewhat true but I don't know why people should mock it but not respect it, don't you really think a peaceful China is a great thing for other countries? From 1949~1989, PRC involved in many proxy wars against USA or Soviet, like First Indochina War, Chinese Civil War, Korean War, Conflicts in Tibet Xinjiang Taiwan, Vietnam War, Sino-Indian Conflicts, Sino-Soviet Conflicts, Sino-Vietnam War, Third Indochina War, Soviet-Afghan War etc..today PLA is peaceful than USA Russia even Saudi Turkey, right? The last big war PRC largely invovled is Sino-Vietnamese War 1979, the last tiny conflict is Johnson South Reef Skirmish in 1988, then CCP regarded both US Russia as partner not threat anymore after Cold War, CCP only put focus on economy not export revolution anymore, then economic gift China got is huge, GDP annual growth is 9% for 30 years without firing a shot, so it's great for both China and other countries.. But just like some people mocked, PLA really got Peace Sickness for 30 years peace, US became bigger and bigger threat for PLA again, so how could PLA get real combat feeling without really invading others? that's joining United Nations Peacekeeping..
